Virgen de Chapi: The pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Chapi has been a tradition since 1743; religious pilgrims pay respect to the icon of the Virgen de la Candelaria, incarnation of the Virgin Mary. The faithful, transported by bus, truck, autos and even by foot, cover 50 km. (31 mi.) to reach the sanctuary and participate in the varied activities that pay homage to the Virgin. May 1.
